His Excellency, Bishop Mark R. Earl, was consecrated by the Most Reverend Thomas Abel, the Presiding Bishop at that time. Bishop Earl assumed the duties of Presiding Bishop upon the simi-retirment of  Bishop Abel, September 11, 2016.

Bishop Earl is originally from Washington State.  Bishop Earl moved to San Diego Bishop Earl and was incardinated in the Catholic Church of America on April 28, 2007.

Bishop Earl has held a number of positions with the local Church, serving a Procical Vicar at Saint John the Beloved Catheral, later assuming the duties of Rector. He has been active in hospice Care since 2012 in the greater San Diego are, and now serves,  as Pastor of Sacred Heart Community Catholic Church of America in the San Diego along with his duties as Presiding Bishop of the Church.
